M

ost universities rule morning exercise. Some of them have introduced an APP to manage students’ exercising. Here is the report by a student research team at Shanghai International Studies University (SISU).

We interviewed several students at our neighbouring university Shanghai University of International Business and Economics and produced a small video aiming at using the app. Moreover, we did an online questionnaire survey about the app, and made the results into infographic, a form of data visualization.

It is worth mentioning that we made a story map to create an immersive experience. By introducing the using process and designing a random route, readers can find the problems with us.

There are some problems need to be improved according to the feedback, such as the unstable system failing to record the grades, inaccurate location and improper route. All of these would make your efforts in vain. What is worse, some students hacked into the app system to cheat in exercise records.

Although there are many complaints about the app on the Internet, we cannot deny that it brings much convenience and benefits to both students and school authority. To some extent, this corroborated the saying that “Good news never goes beyond the gate, while bad news spread far and wide.”
