he Ministry of Education has released the list of newly approved undergraduate programs in 2019. SISU will have three new BA programs: Diplomatic Studies, Data Science & Big Data Technology, and Big Data Management & Application. After the new addition, the university now has altogether 50 undergraduate majors, which cover 12 disciplinary fields.

In the past few years, AI, Big Data and Cognitive Neuroscience are among the most rapidly developing fields. To keep up with the times, SISU take changes as opportunities to further its exploration of combining humanities and social sciences with the study of natural science and technology, finding new energy in the reform of new era while continuously drawing strength from its tradition of foreign language studies. The major of Diplomatic Studies will be offered by the School of International Relations and Public Affairs.
