The number of SISU volunteers serving at the CIIE has been growing over the past seven years. Today, the SISU volunteers number has reached 1,828, with more than 250,000 hours of service at the expo.
Every year, students take an active part in CIIE volunteer activities. Zha Xinyan, a SISU volunteer from School of French and Francophone Studies, said she has learnt how to serve media reporters from all over the world professionally.

Zha said, “For me personally, it is not only an opportunity to learn and grow, but also an opportunity to broaden my international horizons."
Another volunteer Zhang Yifan said, "I feel very proud to participate in the CIIE using my language skills. Although my job seems simple, it is of great significance in the international publicity of China’s image. "
The CIIE, held annually in Shanghai, is a leading global trade event that promotes international cooperation and economic growth. Since its launch in 2018, the expo has become a key platform for businesses worldwide to showcase their products and services to the Chinese market. It brings together thousands of exhibitors and buyers from various sectors, including technology, healthcare, and consumer goods. The event highlights China’s commitment to global trade and offers opportunities for cross-cultural exchange and partnerships.
