oreign experts from Shanghai International Studies University (SISU) learned about Chinese-style rural modernization during their visit to Maogang Town, Shanghai, in November.
They visited the exhibition hall of the village's innovative practice base and the exhibition hall of agricultural products, and explored the pace of revitalization of Shanghai's countryside. They were all surprised by the spacious, comfortable and convenient rural residential environment. Some of them even said, "I would like to stay here!"
At the second stop, they went to the first koi breeding base in Shanghai - Lihong Koi Park. By visiting the breeding ponds for different species of Koi, they learned about the historical and contemporary cultural origins of Koi, as well as understanding about the technical process of introducing, matching and selecting Koi for breeding.
The structure of Chinese villages is often clan-based, with families more closely connected than in foreign villages. A foreign expert said, "I'm very impressed with the connections between families in rural China. Collective group makes it better."
They also went to a wetland park and the whole visit was supported by the local government.
SISU will organize foreign experts in various forms to help them better understand Chinese-style modernization.
