he Research Center for Global Educational Technology was inaugurated by Cao Deming, the president of Shanghai International Studies University (SISU), on April 15, 2015 in SISU.

The research center, jointly constructed by Education Management Information Center of the Ministry of Education (EMIC) and SISU, focuses on the studies of the advanced countries’ developments and strategies in the field of educational technology.

Nearly 50 participants, including Zhan Tao, the director of Education Management Information Center of the Ministry of Education, Jiang Feng, Party Secretary of SISU, and other experts from the Ministry of Education and SISU, attended the ceremony, which was also a professional seminar for education techonology and strategy.

Jiang expressed the welcome and appreciation to the experts and leaders in the opening speech. He noted the strategic importance of educational technology in the national core competence, saying that SISU will make use of its multilingual advantages to cooperate with the Ministry of Education and spare no effort to track the development of global educational technology and the relative comparative research.

Relying on the multilingual talents reserve and the achievements of region and nation studies in SISU, the new research center will provide the information and decision-making reference about the informationalization of education for the government.

In the opening ceremony, Zhan expressed thanks to SISU’s contribution to the construction of the research center, emphasized the advantages and the work focus of EMIC, and also expressed the expectation to the future of the new research center.

In the professional seminar, experts from the Ministry of Education, the National Center for Education Development Research, the East China Normal University and the Tsinghua University also made speeches and exchanged extensive views with each other on educational technology.
