Jiang Feng is a professor and holds a Ph.D. degree. He has been the Chair of Shanghai International Studies University Council since January, 2014. He is also the Vice President of Shanghai Association of Social Sciences and Humanities, and the Chinese Society of Vocational and Technical Education.

 

Prof. Dr. Jiang Feng was born in December, 1962 in Shandong Province, China. He received his Bachelor’s degree from Shanghai International Studies University (SISU) in 1984, later completing his Master’s degree study in 1987, majoring in German Language/Literature and pedagogy. In 2002, he completed his dissertation on German Foreign Cultural and Educational Policy and received his Ph.D. from Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU). He studied in Germany several times in Munich and Bonn under the sponsorship of Hanns Seidel Foundation, Goethe-Institute and German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). Prof. Dr. Jiang Feng has been dedicated to promoting educational and cultural exchange between China, Germany and Europe. His publications mainly focus on German and European foreign policy and Sino-German/EU relationship as well as German education system.

 

Prior to 2014, he was Deputy Director General of International Cooperation and Policy in Ministry of Education of PRC and Minister-Counselor at Embassy of the PRC in Berlin, Germany. He was part-time professor at BFSU during 2000 to 2005, teaching German Foreign Policy. In 2003, he was invited by DAAD as a visiting scholar giving a lecture (Vorlesung) on “Sino-German relationship in the 20th century” at University of Bonn, Germany. During 2009 to 2010, he was member of advisory group of the EU's Seventh Framework Programme for Research (FP7). At invitation of Federal Ministry of Research he acted in March 2019 as member of an evaluation committee. He is also member of Sino-German Dialogue Forum.

 

Prof. Dr. Jiang Feng is member of editorial committee for several journals including Journal of World Education, Journal of German Studies. He is an evaluation expert appointed by China’s Ministry of Education for the evaluation and consultation of Chinese foreign cooperation education programs and institutes.
