Athletics and Fitness

SISU enjoys an extraordinary athletic tradition with a baseball team and a Go team. These two excellent teams have made great achievements in top-level national and international competitions such as the World Students Go OZA Championship in Tokyo, Yings Cup Go Competition, All China University Baseball Tournament and China College Students Baseball and Softball League.

The sports scene at SISU is fantastic, with a wide choice of sport for fun, health or serious competition. Campus sports events like the annual Sports Day and the President Cup Series are all ideal occasions to improve teamwork and help to create an energetic and healthy campus.

There are great sport opportunities for you. The University now houses two stadiums, a gymnasium, a 50-meter swimming pool and an extensive array of outdoor and indoor courts, fields and rooms. Our Hongkou Campus is within walking distance of the prestigious Hongkou Football Stadium, the home stadium of our local football team Shanghai Shenhua.

In charge of the university-wide physical education at SISU, the Faculty for Physical Education takes pride in 4 featured programs: baseball, go, floorball and traditional Chinese physical exercises (including Tai Chi, martial arts and Mulan Fan dance).

Following the partnership with the Major League Baseball (MLB), the Faculty is now working with the Shanghai Students Association of Physical Education to establish the Chinese Association affiliated to the International Floorball Federation (IFF) at SISU. Our International Floorball Program won the top prize in 2010 Shanghai Sunshine Featured PE Project Competition. In 2011, Secretary of General of IFF visited SISU and offered full support to the ongoing project.
