Speaker Biography: Douglas Gibson is a famous Canadian writer, editor and publisher, who was well-known as the former president of McClelland & Stewart. Gibson keeps good relationship with many excellent writers in Canada. In retirement , he published his own memoirs, Stories about storytellers : publishing Alice Munro, Robertson, Davies, Alistair MacLeod, Pierre Trudeau, and others. These years he became more familiar to the public as the spokesman of Alice Munro. He represented the famous female writer with her daughter to attend the Nobel Prize award ceremony in 2014.
