n the middle of Wenhui Road, Songjiang University Town, lies an authentic Indian restaurant named Grill Master. From SISU Songjiang Campus, it is just a 25-30-minute walk. Exotic Indian cuisine there attracts many SISUers to give themselves a taste of curry and masala. Juicy grilled chicken deeply dipped into mint curry sauce, makes it a perfect combination. Take a sip of Mango Lassi, you will find your mouth brimmed with a wonderful taste of probiotics and fruit crushed together. The restaurant is truly a great place to fulfill your stomach and cure your heart, after being tired of the boring food in the campus cafeteria.

Arvind Dhoundiyal, owner of the restaurant, grew up in Chandigarh, India, a beautiful city with some modernist architecture. 6 years ago, he came to Shanghai and then settled in Songjiang. Speaking of the choice, he described Shanghai as a city of opportunities. “To be frank, I can earn more money here.” He said frankly. Language barrier could have been a problem, but luckily, he found that people in Shanghai are kind and helpful. “We can converse with English. People here speak good English.”.

This city has impressed him a lot, especially its convenience and safety. “People can choose different means of transport there. Bus, metro and shared bicycle, everything is brilliant!” He didn't begrudge words of praise in this respect. “Especially taxi. Residents can take a taxi whenever they want, even at midnight without worrying about safety, which might be dangerous in India.”

In the past 6 years, he participated and witnessed the rapid growth of China, just like every Chinese resident did. Mobile payment was popularized. It is never being more convenient to live with the help of a smart phone. One can now pay literally everything through mobile payment, including in this Indian restaurant. New metro lines and high-speed railroads were put into use every year, making intercity and inner-city travelling much faster and easier. His restaurant also becomes more accessible to people from other places. Speak of the future, “I enjoy living here, and I will try to stay in Shanghai as long as possible.” according to the manager.

Nowadays, nearly 200,000 foreigners are living in Shanghai, just like this restaurant owner. They enriched this city with more diversity and vigorousness. Openness and development are both precious traits of this city.
