lenia Morando and Claudio Senni, Italian professors from Shanghai International Studies University (SISU), were recently interviewed in  CCTV documentary We Are Together -- Italy and China Jointly Fight The Pandemic.

“China’s proper measures, though rigorous, have worked well. The number of infected cases has been greatly reduced,” said Senni in the interview, “Chinese people following government regulations and instructions from healthcare workers set good examples for everyone else.”

Morando and Senni have worked and lived in China for years. Morando has set up curriculums on basic pronunciation and conversational skills for students of other majors who are interested in the Italian language. Senni gives series of  lectures on Latin language to the students from the Honors College.

The documentary’s opening remarks says: “The year 2020,  Sino-Italy Year of Culture and Tourism, marks the 50^th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between China and Italy. A sudden pandemic witnessed the friendship between China and Italy.”

The documentary was broadcast on CCTV International at 10 p.m on May 17. Co-produced by China International TV Corporation and European and Latin American Language Program Center, it tells how China and Italy worked together and helped each other to tackle the current risk and how China is growing as a responsible country.

China has sent three medical teams to Italy since the COVID-19 swept the world.  Italy delivered a large number of medical supplies to China at a crucial time in the COVID-19 fight.
