    SISU announced the ten most popular WeChat official accounts of students associations in December, 2020.

he various WeChat official accounts at Shanghai International Studies University received (SISU) attention from both university members and the society, showing a diverse campus life at SISU.

For example, posts of MelodyC2E, a music program operated by SISU students, were read by more than ten thousand people. MelodyC2E has developed the English version of more than 40 Chinese songs.

By weighting metrics like page views and likes, WeChat Communication Index (WCI) help quantify the communication effect on WeChat. According to WCI level, SISU announced the ten most popular WeChat official accounts of students associations in December, 2020.

Among many accounts of student associations, accounts of Students’ Union, Alumni Platform, and Jump Dance Crew show students’ study life, career path, and personal interest.

SISU Students’ Union

In the sector of communities in SISU, the official account of SISU’s Students’ Union always ranks among the top three positions. This official account is used for showing the relevant activities and services in SISU supported by the Students’ Union. It also shows the impressive features of the school, students and teachers.

Articles published in this public account often tell hot issues on campus and even lead the school trends.

For example, it became a big hit that the buildings along the area of the school dormitory were demolished several years ago. Those buildings used to facilitate the lives of students to a large extent. At that time the official account of SISU’s Students’ Union released a very detailed investigative report to trace the ins and outs of the whole incident, so as to calm the doubts and sad emotions of all. It has reached over 8500 PV so far, far above the average PV of this official account.

In conclusion, the official account of SISU’s Students’ Union is where nearly every SISUer depends on to make their lives convenient and colorful on campus.

SISU Alumni Platform

SISU Alumni Platform (SAP) was established on April 1, 2014. It aims at providing students with more social practice opportunities, helping them better fit into society. With increasing followers, SAP’s impact has already reached students of various majors in SISU.

SAP invites outstanding alumni back to campus to give lectures on personal future development. They also bring back internship opportunities, bridging the gap between SISU students and large corporates.

"Interviews with SISU Alumni" is the main section of SAP. Members of SAP interview outstanding SISU alumni and share their life stories on SAP’s WeChat official account of. As of May 2021, SAP has issued 171 personal interviews in total, with more than 460,000 words and 380,000 pageviews.

In May 2015, a personal interview of Zheng Jie, the president and general manager of Chrysler Group (China) Sales Ltd., was viewed for more than 11,200 times. In September 2015, a feature about Yang Rui, the host and producer of Dialogue in CCTV, was reprinted in the January 2016 issue of International Communications, a national professional journal in international communication.

SISU Alumni Platform won the award of Most Influential WeChat Official Account of SISU twice in 2017 and 2018. It was also invited to join Shanghai University Media Union in 2018.

Jump Dance Crew

Jump Dance Crew (Jump) is one of the biggest communities in Shanghai international Studies University (SISU). Its wechat official account was created as the crew was established in 2000. The account shows Jump’s image and history, records all the events that Jump has launched and presents Jump’s achievements. Sometimes, it writes commercial promotions due to its large audience.

“Our account is not just a tool, but a platform to carry our memories. It is really meaningful to look back at the posts we have published,” said Shen Feifei, the major principal of Jump’s wechat official account and vice president of Jump.

Jump’s account is run by almost all the members. They take turns to do the writing, and the technical group of Jump take pictures, make videos, and typeset all materials. The secret of their popularity is their “unity.” Jump’s members tend to read every post and to forward the posts frequently.

“It would be great if SISU’s wechat official accounts can give us chances to promote the communities of our school,” said Shen Jingqi, the president of Jump, “such as posting a collection of the important posts published by communities every week.”
