An Olympic champion attends the night running event of SISU

An Olympics champion attended a night run hosted by Shanghai International Studies University (SISU) recently.
Wu Minxia, China's first female diver to win five championships at the Olympics, was invited to participate in the night run organized by SISU, in order to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the founding of SISU and serve as a role model for students in physical training, according to Liu Hairong, head of the SISU faculty for physical education.

Wu encouraged students to be physically active to keep fit and optimistic, as she said having a good body is the greatest asset to challenge the future.
Yin Dongmei, Secretary of the Party Committee of the school, welcomed Wu Minxia and also encouraged teachers and students to learn from her, have fun and strengthen their bodies through physical exercise.
Students could also do some sports games such as plank during the night run in the middle of the playground. Winners could win a lucky draw.

One of SISU student Xu Heng, participated in the event said, “I am surprised that an Olympic champion would come to our school night run. That makes me even more interested in participating in this event. It is so meaningful!”
