The five lectures, delivered both online and offline, aim to show A range research results of foreign art history. Three of them are about Dunhuang culture, Iranian history and artifacts, as well as an archaeological study of the Silk Road in the northern region of Pakistan.
Founded in 2020, World Art history Institute (WAI) is a research centre of global art history. It is undertaking four art history research projects respectively about Egyptian, Greek, Japanese, and Inner Asia.
Series of activities include a themed book exhibition, a VR tour of the Mogao Caves, a DIY experience of lacquer fans, and a workshop about Dunhuang culture.

The VR tour enables participants to immerse in Dunhuang 1,000 years ago, and to experience the landscape of the 61th and 220th Grottoes of Mogao Caves.

Zha Mingjian, vice-president of SISU, encouraged all SISU students and faculty members to learn about Dunhuang culture and to participate in activities for cultural exchanges during exhibitions and lectures at the opening ceremony.
Dunhuang is located in Gansu Province. About 4,000 years ago, the ancestors of mankind in the Dunhuang area flourished here. Dunhuang was also an essential area on the Silk Road in the Han Dynasty. Dunhuang Mogao Caves is the place where Buddhist scriptures were stored at that time, and the murals of Mogao Caves also recorded the process of cultural exchange.
