dialogue themed improving economic cooperation and intercultural communication among Asian countries was held at Shanghai International Studies University (SISU) on Nov. 15, 2022.

Youth representatives from China, Thailand and India discussed their concerns about how to promote Asia’s economic growth in post-pandemic era.

Zhao Zijie, Thai Chinese New Generation Business Association (TYCC) deputy secretary general, strengthened the importance of younger generations and said that he expected them to deepen bilateral relations between China and Thailand in the fields of economy, trade and culture.

Wirun Phichaiwongphakdee, director of Thailand-China Research Center of Belt and Road Initiative, said, “Energy crisis, food crisis and trade chill has added uncertainty to the world. The booming manufacturing capability and consumption market in China may bring hope for global economic recovery.”

Suwanna Saepan, ZTE (Thailand) RAN Product Manager, introduced 5G market in Thailand and the current state of local communication industry in the dialogue. She said that by cooperating with local industries, chinese companies have promoted the development of communication networks in this region.

China and Thailand also worked together in clean energy and energy interconnection. They have achieved cooperation in the fields of oil, gas, electricity and renewable energy under the principle of Belt and Road Initiative.

The 29th APEC was to be held at Bangkok, Thailand, on Nov. 18. This dialogue was held earlier to discuss younger generations’ responsibility under the coming decade of comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Thailand.
