hen Guofang, former Assistant Foreign Minister, executive director of China International Studies Foundation was invited to attend the signing ceremony between Shanghai International Studies University (SISU) and China International Studies Foundation on November 1st, 2018. A strategic cooperation agreement was signed by President Li Yansong and Ambassador Shen Guofang, respectively representing SISU and China International Studies Foundation.

Under the principles of reciprocity and mutual benefit, both of the two sides would support each other in fields of common interest. With the establishment of the strategic cooperation relation and the exertion of their own advantages, both sides would make the utmost of human and website resources from home and abroad, promote the sharing of good quality resources and achieve mutual benefit. It will also help with the exploration of a new development model for collaboration between university and national-level core think tank, the development of an innovative system that combines the first-class foreign language and literature discipline and the high-end think tank research, and the improvement of the international influences of both sides.

In the signing ceremony, President Li Yansong introduced SISU’s history, mission, vision and the talents cultivation to Ambassador Shen Guofang, who shared his thoughts on foreign language education, Sino-US relationship and regional studies with present teachers and students. Liao Wendi, Secretary of the Communist Youth League of China, SISU Committee, Professor Wang Guangda, executive director of China-Arab Research Center on Reform and Development, Professor Liu Hongsong, dean of School of International Relations and Public Affairs, Professor Mao Wenwei, deputy director of Office of Research Affairs and members from other departments attended the signing ceremony.
