ver 70 scholars worldwide attended a forum to discuss online media and global communication, which was held both online and offline by Shanghai International Studies University (SISU) from April 8 to 9, 2023.
The forum was to review the achievements of academic journal called Online Media and Global Communication (OMGC), which was founded by SISU’s School of Journalism and Communication (SJC) in 2022. The 40th anniversary of SJC was also celebrated.
Ha Xiaoying, Distinguished Research Professor at Bowling Green State University and founding editor of OMGC,reviewed the data and situation of the first year of OMGC.

Zhan Ning, an associate researcher at Shandong University, said it was hard to describe the real China to foreigners.
Wu Fang, an associate professor at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, said that Chinese scholars should pay attention to different cultural situations and way of thinking when writing articles to English journals.
Guo Ke, dean and professor of School of Journalism and Communication of SISU, appreciated the sharing of scholars for the forum. He hoped to expand the cooperation with Ha and expand the translation team, which was consisted of teachers and students who came from different majors in SISU.
