SISU Hosts Quebec Photography Exhibition to Mark 25 Years of Cultural Exchange

Shanghai International Studies University (SISU) recently opened a photography exhibition, Quebec Through the Eyes of Four Photographers, at the Museum of World Languages. The event celebrated the 25th anniversary of cultural exchanges between SISU and Quebec, which was facilitated by the university’s Quebec Studies Center.
The exhibition features 28 works by four Quebec photographers. Their photos cover urban scenes, natural landscapes, daily life and human moments. They showcase the unique French culture of Quebec. For instance, one picture captures a representative glacier site of Quebec.

The exhibition followed the 17th United Nations French Language Day,which highlighted the role of French as a global cultural link. It is not only an art exhibition, but also marks the achievements of cultural exchanges between China and France over the past 25 years.
Bard Nordby, Director of the Quebec Government Office in China, reviewed the history of cooperation at the opening ceremony. He stated that this exhibition presents the charm of Quebec in all aspects, such as the distinctive Victoria gentian of Quebec. SISU has made significant contributions to promoting Quebec culture in China.

Vice President Wang Xin highlighted the significance of the event. She said she hoped SISU would deepen its research on Quebec and promote more faculty and student exchanges in the future.
