Confucius Institute at PUCP

ang Yongli, deputy executive of the Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban), led a delegation to visit Confucius Institute at Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (PUCP) early this month.
To enhance mutual understanding and strengthen the cultural exchange between China and Peru, the delegation had a symposium with the authorities of PUCP and the council of Confucius Institute at PUCP. During the symposium, Wang reviewed the institute’s enrollment and registration situation since 2009.
They also visited the new site of Confucius Institute at PUCP with Dr. Rubén Tang Unzueta, dean of the institute, and Prof. Jose Leon Herrera, director of the Research Center for Oriental Culture of PUCP. After that, they had communication with all the Chinese teachers and volunteers.
Confucius Institute at PUCP is the first Confucius Institute in Peru. It was established in 2009 by PUCP and Shanghai International Studies University (SISU). Up to the present, it has already educated more than 6,000 Chinese language students.
