he representatives of Padjadjaran University from Indonesia recently visited Shanghai International Studies University (SISU) to strengthen academic cooperation between the two universities.
The meeting between the universities’ representatives mainly focused on expanding student and faculty exchanges, joint research, and online course collaboration in the fields of language, culture, economics and law.
Rina Indiastuti, president of Padjadjaran University, said they would keep supporting the development of SISU's Indonesian language program. She also said she expected continuous cooperation with SISU in terms of Chinese language teaching and Chinese studies.
Jiang Feng, the Council Chair of SISU, highlighted "SISU Multilingual+" model, which interconnects subjects with intercultural communication skills. He added that SISU was willing to cooperate with Padjadjaran University in various fields, including Chinese language teaching, comparative country studies, artificial intelligence and linguistics.
The Indonesian language major in SISU was originally established in 1951, and was later integrated into Peking University. SISU reintroduced the Indonesian language major in 2004, and has maintained long-term inter-university cooperation relationships with several Indonesian universities, including Padjadjaran University.
