bout 30 graduate representatives from different schools of Shanghai International Studies University (SISU) participated in the 2018 graduate’s seminar on June 12. The graduates will receive their bachelor, master or doctor degrees this summer.

Graduates shared views on academic research and campus life at SISU at the seminar. Graduates appreciated the support from teachers and schoolmates for completing college courses. They said they benefited from SISU’s distinctive philosophy of developing inter-disciplinary talents and its constant improvement of learning environments.

Graduates also put forwards some suggestions at the seminar, saying that they hoped SISU would enhance the connection of academic researches, student activities, international exchange programs and employment guidance between undergraduates and postgraduates. They also suggested that SISU should improve the curriculum settings, further enrich library information resources, strengthen career guidance and update sports facilities.

SISU President Li Yansong pointed out at the seminar that a university must be a cooperative community of faculty members and students. He added that SISU was dedicating to create a better learning and living environment for students. “The suggestions from students represent their deep love for SISU and we will take them seriously and make efforts to make the campus better,” Li said. He also said he hoped graduated alumni would return to SISU and contribute to the development of SISU in the future. 

Seminar attendees included SISU President Li Yansong, Vice President Yang Li, and University Council Vice Chair Wang Jing. The seminar was hosted by Zhao Ronghui, the Diretor of the Office of Postgraduate Student Affairs.
