professor from Shanghai International Studies University (SISU) chaired the 2015 National Spanish Teaching Seminar. The seminar was held at Southwest University of Science and Technology in Mianyang City this October.
SISU Professor Lu Jingsheng chaired the meeting, which brought together more than 90 scholars nationalwide of Spanish studies, and representatives from Shanghai Foreign Language Education Press, Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press, and The Commercial Press.
Lu is also the director of the Spanish Branch of the University Foreign Language Teaching Guidance Committee of the ChineseMinistry of Education.
He organized representatives to summarize and report the working progress of studies on Spanish education in Chinese universities and colleges, university Spanish major teaching points nationwide, and the annual national Spanish major meeting. The Spanish professional test reform program and the revision of undergraduate syllabus also were discussed during the meeting.
During an interview with a Mianyang City TV station, Lu pointed out that China’s developing exchange and relationship with Latin America bring greater opportunity and demand for Spanish education to enhance teaching quality and cultivate talent with professional skills and international vision.
Professor Yu Man, the Dean of SISU’s School of European and Latin American Studies and secretary general of the Spanish Subcommittee, reported the research of university Spanish teachers and students from all over the nation. Cao Yufei, deputy director of Spanish teaching and research section, reported the progress of 2015 Shanghai “Latin American National Conditions and Culture” graduate student academic forum.
