hanghai International Studies University (SISU) has unvealed new design of degree diplomas this March, to ensure educational autonomy and facilitate the university's global image.
According to the newly-released degree-conferring regulation of Ministry of Education, universities and colleges in China have been able to design and use their own diploma since January 1, 2016 to replace the older one formulated by the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council.
SISU’s new diploma is unfolded in A3 size and has two parts – one envelop and one piece of paper certificate. The diplomas for bachelor’s degree, master’s degree and doctoral degree are designed in the color of green, blue and red respectively.
SISU Visual Identity System (VI), which consists of logo, logotype, color palette, logo variations, supporting graphics and typefaces, is applied to the new diplomas to ensure a unique and consistent visual identity.
Envelops of new diplomas choose high-end PU material with golden university logo and logotype in Chinese and English on the cover. The inside page prints university motto in Chinese and English, “Integrity, Vision and Academic Excellence” and the iconic sculpture of SISU, “Dream, Conviction, Love”.
The certificate prints university name, degree type, ID photo, signatures of SISU president and the degree-conferring committee chair, certificate number and date. All content has Chinese and English version.
In addition to certificate design, SISU adopts a range of anti-counterfeiting techniques in designing new diplomas, including security watermark paper, UV watermark, miniature typing and embossing seal.
