ISU unveiled its Visual Identity System (VI) late December to promote the university's branding and celebrate its 65th anniversary.

The SISU logo, the central element of SISU’s visual identity, was accurately defined in four dimensions – cartographic specifications, minimum size, clear space, and prohibited uses.

The SISU colour is SISU Blue (sea blue), representing the spirit of embracing the world in the way the sea embraces rivers. Its primary colour, CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, black), RGB (Red, Green, Blue) and HEX are Pantone (PMS) 2945 / 100 50 0 10 / 0 98 172 / # 0062AC, respectively.

SISU’s VI also defines its Supporting Graphics. It comes from the “& (and)” character, representing the spirit of “connection, communication and diversity.” Its color, combining SISU Blue with Pantone Yellow C, represents a blend of marine and mainland civilization, implying SISU’s responsibility for strengthening intercultural communication and helping the world hear China’s voice more clearly.

SISU’s VI uses visual symbols to disseminate SISU’s history, culture and features of education in a professional, multi-faceted and standardized way. This will help strengthen the unity between teachers and students, and represent SISU’s identity and core values globally as a leading university.

Chen Wanli, Director for SISU’s Office of Communications and Public Affairs, said during the launch ceremony that SISU is trying to formulate and implement the measures for managing its VI.
